WHO ARE AYRTEK
Ayrtek™ is a sports technology and Innovation Company that has set out to move forward the current materials and designs being used in several sports fields. Within the company there are patents that have been taken out to help protect the hard work and innovation that has gone into the designs that act to dampen/reduce the force generated by direct or in direct impacts. This has been done by dissipating the impact in the form of heat so that less energy is transmitted to the wearer of the protective item.
The latest product has seen the combination of formula one materials combined with an innovative liner in the form of a cricket helmet, which holds our patented pending technology named A.C.I.S (Air Cushion Impact System).

STATEMENT OF INVENTION

To overcome this problem of injuries occurring when being s being struck on the helmet, the Ayrtek™ invention utilises an A.C.I.S (Air Cushion Impact System) that is customisable by the inflation or deflation of it in a liner that covers the head in order to provide additional layers of protection to the helmets currently being used. The A.C.I.S is inflated by a pump and features a release valve to allow the air to be released from the unit.
ADVANTAGES OF THE AYRTEK™ HELMET
Many performers wear helmets in order to participate in their chosen sports field. However as by law all players under the age of 18 years of age are required to wear a helmet when playing cricket. In order to improve the protection and safety element of this aspect it was undertaken to design an inflatable air unit to suit the requirements of a sports helmet for use against impacts.
The need for innovation in the cricket helmet was bought to Ayrtek™’s attention when Ricky Ponting got struck in the Ashes and sustained a serious injury to his face due to his helmet striking him. More recently in the spotlight are Daniel Flynn, David Fulton and Kevin Pietersen who have all taken serious blows to the head during a game situation. Impacts being received to the head on a regular basis are common place during today’s modern game and with growing popularity and higher wages this is only going to increase over the next 12-24 months. This was why it was undertaken by Ayrtek™ to look at the current cricket helmet design and pioneer a way of progressing it in order to make it safer for the performer wearing the helmet.
